About me
Illustration as a Way of Making Knowledge, Nature and Inner Worlds Visible Through Story and Form
Hello, my name is Chantal Petermann, also known as Parsley. Illustration is a way for me to make knowledge, beauty, and meaning visible – the beauty of nature as well as the value of a moment.
My work explores both the forgotten (such as rare or little-known foods) and the invisible (inner worlds, thoughts, and feelings). I create unique original pieces as well as illustrations for print and online media. For me, illustration means making things visible, capturing them, expressing ideas, and most of all, telling stories. When I am not illustrating, I express my creativity through cooking and baking, shaped by my background as a trained baker and pastry chef. I enjoy being outdoors – traveling, spending time in the forest and garden, with animals, cycling, staying active, and meeting people. This closeness to nature, health, and everyday life is reflected in my illustrations.
For me, drawing has no limits. I work in both realistic and abstract styles, from quick sketches to detailed final work.
My illustrations appear on paper as well as on packaging, objects, and chocolate. Curiosity, openness to new ideas, and a strong interest in people, animals, and nature shape my work.
I live and work in Central Switzerland and enjoy creative challenges. Whether personal projects or commissioned work, I see new topics and formats as an invitation to develop clear and meaningful solutions together. My illustrations are created in open dialogue with clients, offering guidance and collaboration to make ideas easy to understand, lively, and engaging.
I look forward to hearing from you and to making ideas visible together.
